Dhamma Koṇdañña is a Vipassana centre in the S.N. Goenka tradition at Kondapur village near Sangareddy, about 70 km west of Hyderabad. It holds free 10-day silent residential courses throughout the year, and a second campus runs courses for teenagers and children and short courses for adults.
Our take · editors' note
Suits: Suits Hyderabad-area meditators wanting a free 10-day Vipassana course in Telugu, Hindi or English on a rural campus about 70 km from the city.
Maybe not for: Not for anyone wanting a large centre, phone access or a flexible schedule; there is about one mixed 10-day course a month and places are limited.
Great for
- deep practice
- spiritual seekers
- digital detox
Maybe not for
- Short breaks (11-night minimum)
- Staying reachable by phone
Two campuses: one for 10-day courses, one for teenagers, children and short courses
About 1.5 hr by road from Hyderabad
Kondapur is traditionally linked to Koṇḍañña, one of the Buddha's first five disciples
