Who we are

RetreatAdvisors is operated by Dilmil Technologies Private Limited (“we”). We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here.

What we collect, and why

• Account details (name, email, password stored only as a secure hash, or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google): to create and secure your account.
• What you post (questions, answers, reviews, votes, reports): to run the community. Posts and your name are public; your email is never shown.
• Optional profile details (bio, home city): shown on your public profile if you add them.
• Technical data (IP address, browser and device details, session cookies): to keep you signed in, prevent abuse and spam, and keep the service secure.
• Saved and compared retreats are stored only in your browser, not on our servers.
• Outbound clicks to retreat websites are counted (which retreat, when) so we can understand what's useful. We add a referral tag to the link; we don't pass your personal data to the retreat.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't ask for health records. Please don't post sensitive health details about yourself or others.
• We don't share your email with retreats unless you ask us to.

Who processes data for us

We use trusted providers to host the site and database, send emails and measure usage. They process data only on our instructions. The site runs on Vercel and its database on Neon, both in Singapore, so your data is stored outside India with appropriate safeguards, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 permits.

Your rights

• Access, correct or update your data from your Settings page, or by writing to us.
• Delete your account and posts at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent.
• Withdraw consent by deleting your account; this doesn't affect processing done before.
• Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you are unable to.
• Complain to us (below), and if unresolved, to the Data Protection Board of India.

How long we keep data

We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and posts, except where the law requires us to retain records (for example, information related to a legal complaint).

Children

RetreatAdvisors is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

Requests and complaints: hello@retreatadvisors.in. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
